Hamas terrorist cell dismantled and a rocket located during a counterterrorism operation in the area of Akraba in Judea and Samaria
This morning (Sunday), the ISA, IDF and Yamam forces completed a counter-terrorism operation in the Akraba area.

During the operation, security forces apprehended a Hamas terrorist cell consisting of ten terrorists who had been working to advance terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.

During the operation, a rocket without a launcher was located and immediately dismantled. In addition, following questioning, one of the terrorists revealed the location of a weapons cache containing an M16 rifle and a large quantity of explosives intended for the production of explosive devices. The weapons and explosives were also immediately dismantled at the scene.

The security forces will continue to operate proactively and offensively to thwart terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria, in order to safeguard the security of residents in the area and Israeli civilians.
IDF: Chief of the General Staff during an exercise assessment: “Against the backdrop of the situational assessment for the upcoming holiday period and as part of implementing the lessons learned from October 7th and examining their implementation, a surprise General Staff exercise was initiated this morning”

Today (Sunday), Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, conducted a situational assessment with the participation of the General Staff Forum, as part of the “Breaking Dawn 2.0” General Staff surprise exercise, which is being conducted simultaneously with operational activity in various sectors.

During the situational assessment, the Chief of the General Staff examined the command headquarters’ and troops’ response to a multi-arena, rapidly developing scenario, as well as the IDF’s readiness for a variety of operational scenarios.

In the words of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “We are in a tense and volatile period across all arenas, and we are preparing for the upcoming holiday period. We continue to draw lessons, and as I have defined it, the baseline posture of the entire IDF is readiness for a surprise attack.

The exercise simulates a multi-arena war and allows us to examine the IDF’s readiness at all levels and across all formations, as well as the orders and their current applicability - from the General Staff level down to the level of units in the field.

The exercise constitutes a significant part of the IDF’s preparations for the upcoming holiday period.”

“Our message is clear—anyone who attempts to harm the State of Israel and its civilians will encounter a determined IDF that is prepared and ready, and will pay an immediate and very heavy price”

The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited the Ground Training Center today (Sunday) as part of the Chief of the General Staff’s surprise readiness test, Breaking Dawn 2.0, together with the Head of the Operations Directorate, MG Itzik Cohen; the Commander of the Southern Command, MG Yaniv Asor; the Commander of the Ground Training Center, BG Yaniv Barot; the Commander of the 98th Division, BG Meni Liberty; the Commander of the Gaza Division, BG Liron Batito; and additional commanders.

The Chief of the General Staff closely observed the readiness of the troops and units to respond to a sudden, complex and large-scale multi-front event, as well as the activation of alert forces and reserves, decision-making processes and the operational response across all levels of command.

The examination is being conducted as part of an ongoing process to strengthen the foundations of the IDF and the readiness and preparedness of troops and commanders at all levels. As part of the examination, the implementation of operational plans is being practiced and assessed alongside lessons learned from combat on several fronts and from the events of the October 7th massacre, as part of preparations for the upcoming holiday period.

From the remarks of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir:

“Today’s exercise constitutes another step in implementing the lessons of October 7th and examining the IDF’s readiness for a scenario involving a surprise war. We are assessing the readiness of the forces and demanding that they meet the highest standard at every level—from the soldier at a position or outpost, through the command and control centers and headquarters, to the General Staff; from the soldier in the field to the Chief of the General Staff.

We are changing, correcting and strengthening everything required in order to be better prepared for every scenario. Today’s examination also sends a message to our enemies: The IDF is fit, prepared and ready to defend the State of Israel, and is also prepared to take the initiative and strike anyone who attempts to harm us. Our message is clear—anyone who attempts to harm the State of Israel and its civilians will encounter a determined IDF that is prepared and ready, and will pay an immediate and very heavy price.”

IDF: In response to the detonation of an explosive device in the Yellow Line area: The IDF struck Hamas terrorist infrastructure sites in the Gaza Strip

Yesterday (Sunday), an IDF engineering vehicle drove over an explosive device belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Yellow Line area in the northern Gaza Strip. No IDF injuries were reported.

This constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Hamas terrorist organization.

In response, overnight (Monday), the IDF struck Hamas terrorist infrastructure sites that were used by the organization to advance terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.

IDF troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any threat.
IDF: Initial report - A report was received regarding an attempted stabbing attack near the area of Usarin, the details are under review.

IDF soldiers have been dispatched to the area.

IDF: Summary of the Chief of the General Staff’s “Breaking Dawn 2.0” Exercise: Assessing the IDF’s Readiness for a Sudden Multi-Front Scenario

A surprise exercise to assess the alertness and readiness of the IDF General Staff and main headquarters was held yesterday (Sunday), with the aim of examining the IDF’s ability to respond to a sudden, complex, and large-scale multi-front event.

During the exercise, the headquarters of all regional commands, directorates, and branches were placed on alert without prior notice and called to action across a range of scenarios, including ground, aerial, and maritime incursions; projectile fire alongside shooting attacks; mass-casualty incidents; abductions and hostage situations; and additional scenarios designed to test the IDF’s defensive doctrine and the implementation of defensive orders across the various sectors.

As part of the exercise, standby forces and reserves were activated by both ground and air, including the mobilization of battalions and special units. Forces were dispatched to various areas and arenas in order to provide a response in the shortest possible time. In addition, the exercise assessed multi-branch cooperation across air, land, and maritime domains, as well as decision-making processes and operational responses at all levels, from the regional commands, branches, and directorates to the General Staff.

The IDF will conduct an in-depth review of the lessons learned from the exercise, identifying vulnerabilities and noteworthy areas, with the aim of continuing to improve the IDF’s defensive capabilities and readiness for a range of scenarios.
The exercise was conducted as part of the Operations Directorate’s 2026 training schedule.

IDF: In response to the launch of two explosive drones toward IDF soldiers in the Security Zone: The IDF struck Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon

Overnight (Monday), Hezbollah terrorists launched two explosive drones toward IDF soldiers operating in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area within the Security Zone in southern Lebanon. No IDF injuries were reported.

Immediately afterward, the IDF struck several Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites across southern Lebanon, including a weapons storage facility. Additionally, the IDF struck several terrorists who were identified transferring weapons in the area of Kfar Reman, in order to remove the threat they posed to IDF soldiers.

Prior to the strikes, steps were taken to mitigate harm to uninvolved individuals, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance. The claim that several uninvolved individuals were harmed as a result of the strikes is being reviewed.

Additionally, following the launch of explosive drones yesterday (Sunday), the IDF struck in the Nabatieh area and eliminated several Hezbollah terrorists.

The IDF will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm Israeli civilians or IDF soldiers and will continue to operate to remove threats while remaining committed to the ceasefire agreement.
IDF: IDF soldiers eliminated a terrorist in a close-quarters encounter in the Beaufort area: The IDF struck Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in response

Earlier today (Monday), during IDF patrols in the Beaufort area in southern Lebanon, a Hezbollah terrorist inside a building, opened fire at the soldiers.
The soldiers returned fire and eliminated the terrorist.

During the close-quarters encounter, two IDF soldiers were lightly injured and were evacuated to receive medical treatment. Their families have been notified.

Shortly afterward, the soldiers fired toward the area where the terrorist was hiding and eliminated him. Additionally, the IDF struck weapons storage facilities, command centers, and additional terrorist infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the area.

The IDF will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, and will continue to operate in order to remove threats while remaining committed to the ceasefire agreement.
IDF: After posing an immediate threat: The IDF eliminated a Hamas Nukhba company commander

Yesterday (Sunday), the IDF struck in the Gaza City area and eliminated the terrorist Yusuf Aqila, a Nukhba company commander in Hamas’ military wing.

In recent weeks, the terrorist advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and operated to restore the terrorist organization's capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire. The terrorist was eliminated to remove the threat he posed.

IDF: During a strike targeting a Hamas terrorist: IDF redirects munition in real time to avoid harming civilians

Yesterday (Sunday), the IDF intended to carry out a strike targeting a Hamas military wing terrorist in the Gaza Strip.

IDF: The IDF eliminated two terrorists from the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip

Yesterday (Sunday), the IDF struck in the Al-Shati area in the Gaza Strip and eliminated the terrorist Sabhi Hadr Al-Atham Al-Batrihi.

The terrorist was an operative in Islamic Jihad and took part in planting explosive devices against IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip.

In another strike last week, the IDF struck and eliminated the terrorist Ahmad Fuad Khalil Khalas, a Nukbah terrorist in Hamas' military wing.

The terrorist took part in planting explosive devices and operated against IDF troops.

IDF: The IDF eliminated a terrorist who attempted to execute a terror attack against IDF soldiers in the Samaria area

Overnight (Monday), IDF soldiers and Israel Border Police forces guided by the ISA operated to thwart terrorism in the areas of Quablan, Usarin, Aqraba and Yatma.

In the area of Aqraba, IDF soldiers arrived in order to question a terrorist belonging to a terrorist organization. Upon their arrival, the terrorist hurled an improvised Molotov cocktail and an improvised explosive device toward them. No injuries were reported. The soldiers then surrounded the building in which the terrorist was hiding before entering the building. IDF soldiers identified the terrorist armed with a knife, which he intended to use to attack the soldiers, and eliminated him.

Additionally, the soldiers apprehended four wanted individuals, including three terrorists who were involved in trafficking weapons, as well as a terrorist who planned to execute a terror attack in the immediate time. The soldiers questioned approximately 60 wanted individuals during searches in 70 locations in the area and located a grenade launcher, ammunition, and additional military equipment.

IDF: Chief of the General Staff at the graduation ceremony of the 153rd Naval Officers Course: “In the ‘Hoshen’ multi-year plan, which is set to be implemented in the coming years, we have placed an emphasis on the maritime arena—an important and essential focus for ensuring our military superiority at sea for years to come. The IDF and the ISA dismantled three weapon storage facilities and a launch pit from which rockets were fired toward Israeli territory throughout the war

Yesterday (Tuesday), the IDF and the ISA precisely struck in several areas across the Gaza Strip and dismantled three Hamas and Islamic Jihad weapon storage facilities. Additionally, a launch pit from which rockets were fired toward Israeli territory throughout the war was dismantled.

The terrorist organizations stored dozens of different kinds of weapons inside the storage facilities, including rockets, Kalachnikov rifles, and additional combat equipment.

Furthermore, the IDF identified that recently, Hamas terrorists have been arriving at the storage facilities and using the weapons stored inside them to establish control in the Gaza Strip and carry out operations.

Prior to the strikes, advance warnings were issued to the population in order to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians, in addition to the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.

The IDF will continue to operate decisively to degrade the capabilities of terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip while thwarting any attempt to rebuild capabilities or use weapons intended to harm IDF troops.

IDF: IDF Chief of the General Staff visits wounded troops ahead of Rosh Hashanah: “There are troops here who stood on the front lines, led, and risked their lives in combat against the enemy—this is bravery in battle. Yesterday (Tuesday), the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, where he met with wounded IDF troops, including commanders and troops from infantry and armored brigades who were wounded during operational activities in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

The Chief of the General Staff toured the various departments and spoke with the wounded troops and their families about the circumstances of their injuries, their recovery and rehabilitation, and the journey they have undergone since being wounded. He expressed his appreciation for their spirit, determination, and contribution to the security of the State of Israel.

The Chief of the General Staff also expressed his deep appreciation to the medical teams, medical liaison personnel, and the casuality affairs personnel, for their important and meaningful work.

From the remarks of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “I came to see you ahead of the new year, and I am moved by what I have seen here. There are troops here who stood on the front lines, led, and risked their lives in combat against the enemy—this is bravery in battle. Now, you are facing an operation that requires further bravery as you recover from your injuries. The entire IDF and I deeply appreciate your sacrifice and contribution. It is our duty to stand by you and accompany you throughout your rehabilitation journey. We are with you every step of the way.

I salute you. May this be a better year: a year of security and hope, a year of unity and victory. A year in which you continue to stand strong and serve as a source of pride for the entire nation.”

IDF: This week, IDF soldiers apprehended the three Palestinian police officers who were involved in setting up a roadblock in Area C near Beitunia, detaining and assaulting an Israeli civilian, while going beyond their authority to operate in those areas.

The police officers are currently being questioned by the security forces.

The Israeli security establishment defines this incident as a serious breach of the mechanisms in place, which endangered the life of the Israeli civilian and involved the use of severe and excessive force against him.

The IDF maintains security coordination in accordance with the directives of the political echelon. At the same time, the IDF will not tolerate any deviation from established procedures.
